Writing a biography is never
easy, especially if you know it will be read by someone who has read
hundreds of. But so it goes, well try to do it. The former members of this
italian band (2001) decided to concentrate themselves on instrumental music,
in order to become the purists of no-sing-song. But, you know, the past
returns and the roots are not peanuts, so the fundamentalism of the
beginning changes into a pop-indie approach, when we finally realize we cant
write 2 minutes nor 20 minutes songs, and we choose to devote ourselves to
4-5 minutes songs (how brave we are!). We made more-or-less interesting gigs,
and we were amongst the founders (with our bucolic friends Pecksniff) of the
label Merendina. During that experience, we learned to work in the world of
gig booking. In the middle of this excitement we had the chance to meet the
fifth element of Vancouver, the voice Alain Marenghi (and you will judge how
nasty this encounter was). He became soon an irreplaceable member of the
band and he gave us a steady hand and a fist of melodramatic lyrics to
release our first Ep, Great News From The Foggy Town, that was recorded by
Carlo Martinelli and mixed by Mourice Andiloro, musicians, friends, and
professionals. We cant judge it, cause we are too involved in it, but we
appreciated that the magazine Blow Up ranked Great News From The Foggy Town
between the top ten italian indie debut in 2005.
